MENA Film Festival 2026 — Community Event at Escamplaan

Organised in collaboration with Stichting Handen van Hoop, the event brought together 20 people. Films about discrimination against people of short stature prompted an in-depth audience discussion about prejudice and accepting differences. Twelve participants of different ages joined a workshop on building self-confidence, introducing themselves and connecting with others. Local community organiser Qasim Al-Hassani co-facilitated the workshop and drew on his experience to explain how self-confidence can help people take the first step towards meeting others. The event ended with a prize ceremony.
